It is very large at 51.25" by 47.5" including the frame. The oak frame is carved by the artist to match the movement of the painting and is considered part of the original art.
This painting was inspired by several things. Primarily it was inspired by my experience at a wine bar in Napa California, where the guests sat on couches surrounding a lively guitar player. I based the style of this painting on an earlier painting I had done, called "Tree of Life" and that painting was of course inspired by Van Gogh's Starry Night. This painting was done primarily with lot's of layering of yellow, red, and blue.
